At 0836 hrs this morning Hambden Fire Department along with automatic mutual aid from The Chardon Fire Department, Middlefield Fire Department, Montville Fire Rescue, Leroy Twp. Fire Department and Munson Fire Department were dispatched to a residential fire on Woodin Rd. Crews arrived within 4 minutes to find a working fire. A first alarm MABAS box was activated bringing in additional resources from Concord Twp Fire Department, Windsor Fire Department, Perry Joint Fire District, Burton Volunteer Fire Department, Madison Fire District and Thompson Fire Department. Crews were able to rescue a dog, a cat, and several fish from the house. No injuries occurred to firefighters or civilians. The Geauga County Fire Investigation Unit is investigating the cause of the fire. Thanks to all departments that assisted as well as to the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office Deputies and Dispatchers for their assistance.
